Brent Russell Earns Second UPC "Lineman of the Week" Honor

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern fans voted Brent Russell Utilities Protection Center "Lineman of the Week" for his performance in the September 24th Eagles game at Elon.
Russell recorded a season-high total of nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss in his fourth start this season. The redshirt-freshman defensive lineman from Comer, Ga., picked off an Elon pass off a teammate's tip for his first career interception, returning it for three yards before being forced out of bounds. Russell received 82.5 percent of the votes in this week's poll and to earn his second UPC "Lineman of the Week" honor of 2009
