Women's Soccer Home Opener is Now Set for Sunday at 3 pm. against Charleston Southern

Statesboro, Ga. ? Coastal Carolina University cancelled the Coastal Carolina Tournament set for Sept. 5 and 7 at the Coastal Carolina Soccer Field due to the impending landfall of Tropical Storm Hanna in the Carolinas.
Georgia Southern was slated to face Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina in the tournament.
The Eagles (2-1-0) have made arraignments to still play Charleston Southern (2-1-0) on Sunday the 7th in Statesboro.
“I really appreciate Eric [Terrill] coming down to play us despite the Coastal Carolina tournament being canceled. Charleston Southern has had a great start. They are a very athletic and well coached team that should challenge us on Sunday. I know our girls are looking forward to playing at home and playing in front of a home crowd. We hope to play well and give the fans an enjoyable game to watch,” said Coach Hart.
The Women’s Soccer team is seeking its third win of the season.
Charleston Southern defeated The Citadel 4-0 at home on Monday in their last game.
The Lady Buccaneer's return all eleven starters and 14 letterwinners.
Emma Mattsson leads the team with seven points. She has scored two goals and tallied three assists on the season.
Michelle Dennis has also scored two goals and has picked up two assists in her three starts.
The Lady Buccaneers’ have started a different goalkeeper in each game this season.
Jena Uvalle started The Citadel game and made five saves in the 4-0 shutout.
