Volleyball Falls in Three at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- Wofford jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the match and never looked back in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22) volleyball win Saturday afternoon at Johnson Arena.
The Terriers improve to 13-12 overall and 3-7 in the Southern Conference. The Eagles drop to 12-13 and 6-5.
Wofford had two players record double-digit kills, led by Shanna Hughes with a match-high 12 and Stacy Byrd with 11.
Freshman Bethany Sanford (Avondale, Ariz.) totaled a team-best 11 kills and sophomore Michelle Uzoh (San Antonio, Texas) recorded six on just eight attempts for a percentage of .750.
Senior Mae Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) dished out 27 assists and freshman Hannah Nelson (Norcross, Ga.) had 11 digs.
The Eagles return to action Sunday with a 2 p.m. match at Furman.
