Volleyball to host Chattanooga and Western Carolina this Weekend

STATESBORO, Ga. --- The GSU volleyball team, fresh off a five-game win at Wofford, returns to Hanner Fieldhouse this weekend for SoCon matches against Chattanooga and Western Carolina.
Saturday’s tilt vs. Chattanooga starts at 11 a.m. and Sunday’s match is set to begin at 2 p.m. Live stats are available here
Last season the Eagles split the series, losing both matches at home but winning on the road.
Sunday senior Gorana Bacic (Richmond, Va.) recorded a season-high 16 kills and a .303 hitting percentage, her third plus-.300 performance this season.
Freshman Michelle Uzoh (San Antonio, Texas) continues to rank among the SoCon’s elite in hitting percentage, ranking fifth at .314.
Chattanooga (8-6, 3-0) boasts the SoCon leader in kills, Leslee Ball (4.71 kpg), and digs, Lara Newberry (7.08). The Lady Mocs enter the weekend winners of their last six matches, including 17 games in a row. UTC is 3-0 in league play having swept Western Carolina, Appalachian State and Davidson.
WCU (7-12, 2-2) lost six straight matches earlier this month, but has rebounded to win four of their last seven, including two straight over Davidson and East Tennessee State.
