Charleston Claims 2-0 Victory over Eagles

The Eagles drop to 2-7-0 overall and pick up their first conference blemish (1-1-1). The Cougars improve to 5-5-1 and pick up their second league victory (2-0-1) on the season.

In the 28th minute, Schneider managed to fight her way through three GSU defenders, shot from the middle of the box and gave the Cougars a 2-0 advantage that they wouldn't relinquish.
“We possessed the ball well, but we didn't make the most of our opportunities,” said head coach Ashley Hart. “Heather Smith did a good job getting the ball forward out of the back and helped create some dangerous opportunities in front of the goal, but we just weren't able to capitalize on them.”
While managing to produce five more shots in the second stanza, the Cougars were able to keep the Eagles to just two shots.
One of Georgia Southern's best scoring opportunities in the second half came off the foot of Laura Smith (Buford, Ga.) who's shot in the 58th minute hit the post.
