Named All-America by the NCAA Coaches Association after leading the Eagles to their first College World Series appearance ever... Batted .333 in 48 contests... Hit a team-high 11 home runs and had 52 runs batted in... A year later, drove in a then-record 82 runs to lead the Eagles to a second-straight regional appearance... His dreams came true in 1974 when he signed a professional contract with the Philadelphia Phillies organization... Played over 11 years in the major leagues with the Phillies (1977-78), Chicago White Sox (1979-82), Pittsburgh Pirates (1982-87), Detroit Tigers (1987-88) and Atlanta Braves (1988)...
