Megan Murray

Megan Murray is in her second season on the Georgia Southern Track and Field and Cross Country coaching staff and coaches the distance runners.

Year one saw the Eagles break four school records and post 15 top-10 performances during the indoor season and 16 top-10 performances during the outdoor campaign. The Eagles finished fifth at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, their best finish since joining the league prior to the 2014-15 season. In addition, Georgia Southen posted three top-5 finishes on the cross country course.

Murray was a four-year member of the University of Tennessee cross country and track and field team and a two-year member of the Michigan State University track and field team. A three-time USTFCCA All-South Region Cross Country honoree, Murray qualified for the Junior USA Cross Country team in 2017 and the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2018. She served as the cross country team captain as a senior at Tennessee and finished top-three on the team at all six meets.

Murray brings a wealth of experience working with college students, having worked as a teaching assistant at Michigan State for physical activity courses, including distance running. She also has experience working with athletes on skills related to motivation and athlete burnout. 

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Murray graduated from Tennessee in May of 2020 with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and a minor in German. She graduated from Michigan State in May of 2022 with a master's degree in kinesiology and a concentration in sport psychology.
