Mario Cherry joined the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation in February 2026 as Assistant Athletic Director for Major Gifts. A proud Double Eagle, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Business in 2018 and his Master of Science in Kinesiology in 2021 from Georgia Southern University.
During his undergraduate years, he was a member of the Georgia Southern Eagles football team (2016–2017), actively participated in the Sport Management Club (2016–2018), and served as an Athletic Marketing Intern (2017–2018) under Dan Adams. He also gained hands-on experience in athletic administration and event management through Game Day Operations under the late Nick Scull.
After graduating in 2018, he began his professional career at Fort Valley State University, serving as Director of Athletic Development and later as Strategic Management Lead in the Office of University Advancement.
A proud son of Bobby, Sr. and Kwandolyn Cherry, he has two siblings, Bobby Jr. and Sharonda Cherry.
