Brooke Hopkins

Brooke Hopkins joined the Georgia Southern Athletics Department in March 2024 as an Academic Advisor for Student-Athlete Services. She works with women’s volleyball and track and field/cross country.

Birch is from Wilmington, North Carolina, and was raised in Lorton, Virginia. She came to Georgia Southern to play on the women’s volleyball team (2016-2019) and received a Bachelor of Science in child and family development. Upon completion of her bachelor degree, she was an intern at Camp RAD (Recreation for Adolescents with Disabilities) serving as a camp counselor.  

She continued to pursue her Masters in Counselor Education with a concentration in School Counseling at Georgia Southern University (2020-2022). While completing her master’s she served as a graduate assistant in the Admissions Office and was an intern at Metter Elementary and Middle School, working with grades K-8. After graduating she got hired as a freshman processor in the Admissions Office (2022-2024).

Birch currently lives in Statesboro with her husband, Charlie Hopkins, a former Georgia Southern football player/graduate (2001-2006), former college football coach and current offensive line coach at local school Bulloch Academy. When not in Statesboro you can find Brooke with Charlie in Elberton, Georgia, with friends and family at Clarks Hill Lake. 

The couple has a daughter, Hazel.
