Brian Mizeski

Brian Mizeski joined the Georgia Southern Sports Medicine staff in 2015, as a graduate assistant, and was promoted to full time staff in August of 2017. As of 2022, Mizeski oversees daily operation of the Hanner Field House athletic training room and his primary sport responsibilities include coordinating the day-to-day medical needs for the Georgia Southern Men’s Soccer and Men’s Tennis programs. He was named Billing and Insurance Coordinator in July of 2020, handling medical bills for and coordinating insurance for all 17 Georgia Southern University sports. During his time at Georgia Southern, Mizeski has worked with the Softball, Baseball, Track, and Men’s Basketball programs for various tenures.

Outside of his responsibilities at Georgia Southern, Mizeski joined the Southeastern Athletic Trainers Association (SEATA) in summer of 2020 as the MARCOM (Marketing & Communication) Committee, Marketing Collaterals Coordinator. Since then, he has been named chair and is responsible for overseeing Social, Digital, and Marketing for District 9.

Mizeski joined the Georgia Southern University Staff Council as a committee member in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has been named Co-Chair of the Staff Council Professional Development Committee. Mizeski’s committee has been responsible for providing 30+ hours of professional development opportunities to university staff members. He has overseen the planning, development, & implementation of virtual and in person conferences on both the Armstrong and Statesboro Campuses. He has helped to start the Staff Council Campus Clean Initiative, aimed at helping keep the campus community clean, as well as serving as a member
of the President’s Diversity Action Committee (PDAC).

Prior to joining Georgia Southern, Mizeski spent time in Orlando, Florida, working as an Intern Athletic Trainer at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. While there, Mizeski was able to work with different national organizations, such AAU, Special Olympics, and Wounded Warriors. 

Mizeski received his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2014, graduating from Kean University. He is an alumnus of Georgia Southern, graduating with a master’s degree in Kinesiology, concentrated in athletic training. He is an active member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association, the Southeastern Athletic Trainer’s Association, and the Georgia Athletic Trainer’s Association. Mizeski is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Georgia and holds certifications in CPR, AED, and Oxygen administration, Graston, Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction, as well as being certified to teach CPR through the American Red Cross.
 
The New Jersey native lives in Statesboro with his two daughters; Brielle and Lindy.
