Willie Powers is in his third season back in Statesboro as a member of the men's basketball coaching staff. 

A 2012 Georgia Southern graduate, Powers was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection for the Eagles and finished his career with 1,321 points, 460 assists, 359 rebounds and 122 steals. He still ranks 17th in scoring and fourth in assists on the school’s all-time list in the Division I era.

Following his collegiate playing career, Powers played professional basketball for BC Prievidza in Slovakia.
