Whitney Haworth

Whitney Haworth joined the Georgia Southern Athletic Department in August of 2022 as the Director of Creative and Digital Strategy within GATA Productions. 

Haworth has deep roots in the conference as she worked for over three years at the Sun Belt Conference, first as Digital and Social Media Correspondent from 2016-2017 and then as the Director of  Digital and Social Media from 2017-2020. 

At the Sun Belt, Haworth created original content for SunBeltSports.org and the Sun Belt Digital Network and led digital and social media initiatives for the conference office, an area that experienced exponential growth under her watch. She was a 2019 SVG College Sports Media Award finalist for Outstanding Live Game Production for her work.

Following her departure from the conference, she worked as an independent contractor for the PGA TOUR and Naismith Awards. With both groups, she produced content and served as an on-air talent for different digital and social platforms.

Haworth arrived in New Orleans following a post-grad internship as a reporter and production assistant at the University of Florida. She was the primary reporter for the men’s and women’s golf and tennis teams and assisted with football, men’s and women’s basketball, lacrosse, softball, swimming and diving and volleyball.

She has also worked as a sideline reporter and contributor for ESPN and the SEC Network, covering select ESPN3 and SEC Network+ baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, softball, women’s tennis and volleyball broadcasts. She also wrote and produced features and highlights that were published on SECSports.com and broadcasted by the SEC Network.

Haworth graduated from the University of Tennessee in December 2013 with a B.S. in communication with a concentration in journalism and electronic media, sports journalism.
