Maddi Cumpston joined the Georgia Southern football program in May of 2021 and serves as the Director of On-Campus Recruiting for the Eagles. In her role, Cumpston is a vital piece of the recruiting process. She works closely with the entire coaching staff, other departments on campus, and community vendors to execute recruiting events at the highest level.
Cumpston came to Statesboro from the University of Memphis where she was an Assistant Athletic Academic Counselor for the 2020-2021 academic year. She worked primarily with football student-athletes, as well as men’s/women’s soccer and men’s/women’s track & field.
She was responsible for developing her caseload of student-athletes and increasing their academic performance throughout the year.
Prior to Memphis, Cumpston attended the University of Oklahoma where she was in graduate school and served in several different departments during her two years. Among those roles included Men’s Basketball as the On-Campus Recruiting Operations Assistant, Graduate Assistant for Athletic Academic Services, Athletics Compliance Intern, Graduate Assistant for Student Affairs, and Football Student Recruiting Assistant.
During her undergraduate time at Oklahoma State University she was an intern for Athletics Marketing for her two years there. She also worked as the student-assistant for Player Development. Cumpston was an active member of the Sports Management Club and Women in Sports Media Club.
Cumpston was also a member of the Hutchinson Community College Volleyball team from 2014-2016, where she graduated with her Associate’s in Business in 2016. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2018 with a bachelor’s in sports management and marketing, and her Master’s of Education in adult and higher education with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletic administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2020. She is an active member of Women Leaders in College Sports.
