Georgia Southern University Athletics

Eliza Petersen joined the Georgia Southern Athletic Department in August 2022 as the Director of Football Nutrition.

Petersen comes to Statesboro from Morehead City, North Carolina, where she worked in the outpatient setting from May 2021-July 2022. Prior to living in North Carolina, from January 2021-May 2021, she was the R.D. Intern for Olympic Sports at Clemson University. In this position, she primarily worked with the softball program. 

Petersen obtained her Master's Degree in science of nutrition and completed her dietetic internship from Samford University in December 2020. Petersen completed her practicum for the dietetic internship at UNC Chapel Hill working for the football team. She graduated from Carson-Newman with a B.S. in foods, nutrition and dietetics and a minor in business administration in May 2019 where she swam at the collegiate level for four years.
