Former Georgia Southern defensive back Rico Zackery is in his first season as the director of recruiting operations for head coach Tyson Summers. Zackery, who was the head football coach at Central Carroll High School from 2013-2015 will head up the recruiting efforts of the Eagles.
A native of Newnan, Georgia, Zackery has served as the head football coach and co-athletic director at Central Carroll High in Carrollton, Georgia, the past three years and led CCHS to a 30-6 record in that span, including a 5-AAA Region Title in 2014. He served as the defensive coordinator for the team from 2011-2013 and was also an assistant at Colquitt County High from 2010 to 2011.
As a defensive back for the Eagles, Zackery lettered four times from 2003-2006 and registered 42 tackles as a senior.
Zackery graduated in 2007 from Georgia Southern.
