Mike Krysl

Mike Krysl joined the Eagles as the new Director of Player Development for the Georgia Southern Football program in 2014 after serving as an assistant coach at West Virginia State from 2013-14. A two-year letterwinner at fullback for Coach Fritz at Central Missouri, Krysl became a student assistant coach for the Mules after an injury ended his playing career. He remained at his alma mater as a graduate assistant coach after earning his degree.

At UCM, Krysl worked with the offensive line on the 11-3 team in 2010 which reached the third round of the NCAA playoffs. In 2011 he helped the Mules to an 8-4 record and an appearance in the Kanza Bowl against West Texas A&M. His experience on the Mule coaching staff launched his career into coaching full-time when he was named the Offensive Coordinator at Lexington High School in 2012.

With the goal of returning to the college game, Krysl joined the staff at West Virginia State as Offensive Line and Tight Ends Coach in January 2013 with additional responsibilities as the strength and conditioning coordinator. He coached Yellow Jacket tackle Ricardo Figueroa to All-Mountain East Conference honorable mention honors and mentored a center who would anchor the offensive line as a true freshman and 11-game starter in 2013.

Krysl earned two degrees from Central Missouri with a bachelor’s of science in secondary education followed by his master’s degree in Athletic and Sports Business Administration in 2011.
