Erk Russell Fund1, which is the main fundraising arm for the Athletic Foundation, is the annual scholarship fund for Georgia Southern Athletics. Contributions to the Erk Russell Fund support nearly 400 student-athletes who play in one of the 17 Division I varsity sport programs by providing academic scholarships. 

The Erk Russell Fund includes eight contribution levels:

TRUE BLUE $60 - $299 ($5/month)
DO RIGHT $300 - $599 ($25/month)
ONE MORE TIME $600 - $1,499 ($50/month)
RATE, HIKE $1,500 - $2,999 ($125/month)
THE WANTS $3,000 - $5,999 ($250/month)
YELLOW SCHOOL BUS $6,000 - $9,999 ($500/month)
TEAM me $10,000+ ($833/month)

Why give? Because the Erk Russell Fund changes lives. Here's how. 

Erk Russell Fund members are a vital component to the success of Georgia Southern student-athletes in the classroom and on the playing field. Membership in the Erk Russell Fund is recognized by unrestricted annual gifts that are made between July 1 - June 30. All accounts must be paid in full by June 30 to receive upcoming Erk Russell Fund benefits. Contributions can be given at any level, but a minimum gift of $60 is required to activate an annual Erk Russell Fund membership and receive benefits including, but not limited to Lifetime Giving ranking. 

PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to join the Erk Russell Fund each year is June 30th. Anyone joining after June 30th will be members in the following year. For example, if you are joining in January of 2025 for $125/month, you will be a $750 (One More Time) 2025-26 Erk Russell Fund donor for the upcoming year and you will be a $1,500 (Rate, Hike) donor for the 2026-27 Erk Russell Fund. Erk Russell Benefit packets will be shipped out in late July each year.
 
  1. Sport-specific giving, endowments, capital gifts and planned gifts are not considered part of the Erk Russell Fund.

The Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation's primary goal is to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to compete for a championship ring and earn a college education while developing them as future leaders in their respective communities.

The mission of the Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation, Inc. is to provide private financial support for athletic scholarships, facilities and staff enhancement for the Athletic Department of Georgia Southern University. All of the activities of the Athletic Foundation are conducted with the highest regard for academic and athletic excellence and within the guidelines established by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents, conference affiliations and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
