On the southeast end of campus lies Georgia Southern’s soccer and track & field complex, Bo Pitts Field.
Soccer
The home of Georgia Southern Soccer was named after former men's soccer standout Bo Pitts in 2024 following a generous donation to the program. Bo Pitts Field features a main stand with seating for 500 fans as well as grassy areas for fans to bring lawn chairs to watch the match. Air conditioned locker rooms are located behind the main stands. A MUSCO lighting system was completed during the 2012 soccer season and allowed the team's to play their first night games at Eagle Field that season. A new video and scoreboard system was installed prior to the beginning of the 2024 campaign as well.
Track & Field
The 400m, eight-lane track surface is made of Mondo, which is the same high-quality material used at the Olympic Games and the World Championships. The complex’s features include: two multi-directional long jump pits; a multi-directional 100m and hurdles track, two pole vault runways (one on the infield as well as one on the north side of the track); a javelin runway that extends off of the high jump apron; and a combination cage that encloses the hammer and discus rings, located adjacent to the shot put ring, that throws southeast.
Georgia Southern Track & Field plays host to an Invitational event each March and has served as the host institution for the Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships three times, most recently in 2013.
Directions
From I-75 South/I-16 East/Highway 301 North (Atlanta/Macon):
Take Exit 116 off of I-16 and turn left (north) onto Highway 301. The Veterans Memorial Parkway (bypass) will be about 8 miles. Turn right onto the bypass. Pass the University entrance and proceed to the next stoplight. At this stoplight, turn left onto Lanier Drive (the FB stadium is on the left). Continue on Lanier to stoplight. Take a left at Chandler Road and then another left onto Meleicke. Follow this road until you see the parking lot on the left (track/soccer facility is located behind the parking lot next to the water tower).
From I-95 North/I-16 West/GA 67 North (Savannah/Florida):
Take Exit 127 off of I-16 and turn right (north) onto GA 67. Travel approximately 13 miles from I-16 to the Statesboro city limits. Take a left onto Veterans Memorial Parkway. Continue to stoplight at Lanier Drive and turn right. Drive approximately one block and turn left into drive next to football stadium. Follow this road until you see the parking lot and track/soccer facility at the opposite end.
From Highway 25 and Highway 80 (Augusta and other routes):
Coming into Statesboro at the city limits take a right onto Veterans Memorial Parkway. Follow Veterans Memorial Parkway (cross 301S/25S), pass the University entrance and proceed to the next stoplight. At this stoplight, turn left onto Lanier Drive (the FB stadium is on the left). Continue on Lanier to stoplight. Take a left at Chandler Road and then another left onto Meleicke.
