GUS loves seeing the Eagle Nation, and would love to attend your event. Fill out the form below to request an appearance to see if GUS is available.
HOW TO BOOK GUS FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT:
GUS may be available to appear at your next event. Please complete and submit the GUS Mascot Request Form at LEAST 2 WEEKS, but no more than 3 months in advance. Forms that are completed outside this window are subject to dismissal. GUS is extremely busy at the beginning of his semesters. Athletic and University Requests will receive priority during these times. We will do our best, but may be unable to complete requests during exam weeks, during football weekends, the summer, and scheduled student breaks. Since our Mascots are students, they are typically more available in the evenings and on weekends. If GUS is available to attend an off-campus event, he will need an adult to serve as full-time escort who can ensure that he has the following items:
- A parking spot at the venue
- A private place to change (not a public restroom)
- Drinking Water which is available at all times
- A reminder when their appearance time is over (GUS cannot wear a watch and clients will be responsible to pay any late charges).
- A 15 minute break halfway through his appearance with water
Rates and Fees:
University departments and organizations = $75/hour
External & private events (weddings, corporate events, birthdays, etc) = $200/hour
By default, appearance durations will be one hour. TWO HOURS is the maximum length of time GUS will perform at your event. For any events more than one hour away from Statesboro, GUS's appearance is required to be two hours.
You will be charged for the hour(s) at the applicable rate. Rates cannot be pro-rated. You will be charged a $100 late fee and $100 for every 15 minutes you keep GUS past his scheduled appearance time.
There will be a travel charge of 65.5 cents per mile for any event that is outside Bulloch County. For the safety of our mascots, we require lodging for our mascots if the event/venue is more than 2.5 hours away, across state lines, or if the event ends at a time that would prevent a safe drive home. You as the event holder, are responsible for the booking and lodging cost associated with the rental of GUS.
GUS reserves the right to walk away from any event that he/she deems unsafe, harmful, inappropriate or not in accordance with the Georgia Southern image. Use of Georgia Southern name, logos, and trademark and/or any advertising that implies the support or sponsorship of Georgia Southern or Georgia Southern Athletics must be approved in writing by Georgia Southern University.
