From the Fairway
• Georgia Southern will appear in the NCAA Regional for the 19th time in program history and the first since 2023. Prior to the NCAA expanding postseason to include six regional sites in 1989, the Eagles made 10 additional appearances in the NCAA Championship.
• The Eagles have advanced out of Regional play six times, in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2010, 2019 and 2022.
• Southern has now made 12 appearances in the past contested 18 NCAA Championships. The Eagles won the SoCon Tournament in 2011 and 2014, the Sun Belt Tournament in 2015 and 2021 and received at-large bids in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2026.
• Georgia Southern made six consecutive NCAA Championship appearances from 2001-06 and then four in a row from 2019-23 (2020 was canceled due to COVID).
• Parker Claxton, Harrison Sewell and Morgan Blythe have made the lineup for all 10 tournaments. Horne was in nine of the 10 tournaments and the same five players have been in the lineup for all six spring events.
• Freshman Trace Carter, sophomore Thomas Horne, along with transfers Harrison Sewell and Morgan Blythe will all be making their first appearance at the NCAA Championship.
• Claxton is making his third appearance. In the 2023 Salem (SC) Regional, he shot a 72-71-68=211 (-5) to tie for 27th place as the team tied for seventh. Last year, Claxton made the 2025 NCAA Auburn Regional as an individual and posted a 72-71-76=219 (+3) to tie for 20th place.
• Blythe, a transfer from Miami, earned the Sun Belt's Newcomer of the Year honor and was named to the first team. The Newcastle, England, native was the MAC Freshman of the Year in 2024 and First-Team All-MAC last year.
• Claxton earned second-team all-conference honors this season. He made the second team as a freshman, the third team as a sophomore and first team last season, making him the second Eagle in program history to be a four-team All-Sun Belt selection, and just the third in program history to earn four all-conference honors.
• Edouard Cereto played in the 2024 NCAA West Lafeyette Regional while competing for Southern Illinois, shooting a 72-71-71=214 (-2) to tie for 14th place.
• The Eagles are paired with San Diego and Purdue for Monday's first round and will tee off the 1st hole at 8:25 a.m. (PT).
