
Freshman Breaks School Record on Opening Day of SBC Championship

MOBILE, ALA. – Freshman Madison Linscomb opened Day One of the SBC Outdoor Championships with a standout performance for the Eagles, breaking a school record while posting three personal bests.
Competing in the heptathlon, Linscomb recorded PRs in the 200m (25.61), high jump (1.44m) and shot put (11.34m). She capped off the day with a mark of 43.95m in the javelin, moving from third to first on Georgia Southern's all-time list and setting a new program record.
Shatalya Dorsett and NaJ Watson each punched their tickets to the 200m final with podium finishes in the prelims. Dorsett clocked a 23.32 to maintain her spot atop the conference standings, while Watson placed third with a time of 24.78.
Closing out the day on the track, Jayla Lawrence added a 24.78 performance in the 200m prelims, while distance runners Jessie Schroeder (39:37.93) and Rebecca Stratton (40:57.66) wrapped up competition for the Eagles in the 10K.
