Gregoire Delattre reaches the final of the B singles bracket to spotlight Eagles' first action of the Fall
Five Eagles competed in both singles and doubles competition at Elon.
Freshman Gregoire Delattre spotlighted the Eagles' weekend results, advancing to the finals of the B Singles bracket with three straight wins. The Frenchman defeated Elon's Jack Curtis, 3-6, 7-6 (10), 6-3; East Tennessee State's Kai Cowcher, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-1; and Virginia Commonwealth's Gevorg Mnatsakanyan, 6-2, 6-0, to earn his berth in the final. In addition to Delattre, three other student-athletes made their debut as Eagles - Davis Taylor, Evan Rigsby and Edoardo Santoni.
"Thanks to Coach Sykut and Elon for hosting a fantastic event," Georgia Southern head men's tennis coach Andrew Goodwin. "It was nice seeing our new guys compete for the first time as Eagles. Our team is continuing to gain clarity on who we are and how we operate. We've got a lot we can do better and can't wait to attack this week of practice!"
Georgia Southern will be next in action on October 3-5 at the Auburn Invitational.
