STATESBORO– Men's basketball has added Bluefield State transfer forward Shainen Carter to the squad for the 2025-26 season.

Carter joins the Eagles after stops at a pair of junior colleges and one year at the Division II level at Bluefield State.

Last year with the Big Blue, Carter averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game, scoring in double digits in 21 of 30 games and 20+ three times, including a career-high of 22 twice. He shot 51.4 percent (145-282) and scored just under 400 points.

He recorded four double-doubles during the season, including one of 20 points and 11 rebounds at Virginia Union on Jan. 25. His 66 blocks led the team, notching a career-high eight blocks in the season opener against Wheeling on Nov. 8.

The forward spent 2023-24 at Henry Ford CC, averaging 8.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, shooting 62 percent from the field, and the previous season at St. Clair County Community College, where his line was 7.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

Carter adds another forward to the incoming transfer class and joins the Division I ranks for the first time.
