NCAA SCORECARD
FORT WORTH, Texas - After a tough week of practice, snow and travel, the fourth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team escaped Fort Worth with a 4,717-4.714 victory over fifth-ranked TCU Saturday at the TCU Rifle Range. The Eagles also posted a victory over Schreiner University to go 2-0 on the day.
In smallbore,
Bremen Butler posted a 586 to lead the way and finish second. She was followed closely by
Emme Walrath's 585, which was good enough for the bronze, and both
Ella Goldfaden (4th) and
Zahra Gonzalez Mazo's 584 (6th)).
Tori Watts (581; 8th),
Hailey Singleton (580; 10th) and
Emma Pohlmann (579; 12th) also posted strong number for the Eagles.
In air rifle, Butler shot a 597 with 54 centers to lead the team and take third. Walrath was one shot back at 596 and took fifth. Goldfaden and Watts both shot 594s to take eighth and ninth, respectively. Singleton shot a 592 (13th), with Pohlmann recording a 591 (14th) and Gonzalez Mazo shooting a 588 (17th).
The Eagles were led in aggregate by Butler's 1,183, which was good enough for second. Also finishing in the top 10 were: Walrath with a 1,181 (3rd), Goldfaden (1,178; 6th), Watts (1,175; 8th) and Gonzalez Mazo (1,172; 10th). Singleton shot a 1,172 as well, but was knocked out of the top 10 by the center shots tiebreaker.

"Definitely not our best day, but the girls did a lot of things well that can we take away from the match. TCU is a great team so shooting against them always adds a different perceived pressure. I think a week off will do use well and we will spend that time preparing for SoCon's in two weeks at home."
