STATESBORO - Georgia Southern men's tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honoree for the 2023-24 academic year, while eight Eagles earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, announced today by the organization.
ITA All-Academic Teams are awarded to Division I schools that maintain a 3.20 GPA or better for the entire year, while ITA Scholar-Athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or better for the year.
Georgia Southern men's tennis carried a 3.71 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, tops among male programs, to earn earning the All-Academic Team honor for the first time since 2020 and the eighth time overall.
Individually, eight Eagles on the roster earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors - juniors Alex Amacher, Laurent Julia Calac, Pol del Castillo, Dimitris Paliouras, Alex Suk; sophomores Matthew Mitchell and Aaron James Williams; and freshman Holden Hall.
It's the most All-Academic honorees for Georgia Southern men's tennis in a single season in program history.
