NCAA SCORECARD
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Georgia Southern sophomore student-athlete Emma Pohlmann wrapped up her season Saturday at the NCAA Rifle Championships, where she competed as an individual in air rifle. The Nentershausen, Germany, native shot a 594 in qualification with 46 center shots and two 100 series.
"We're really happy that Emma had this opportunity to experience the NCAA Championships," head coach Soren Butler said. "It was great that her family got to fly in from Germany, as well, to spend time with her. This experience at an elite-level meet will jump start her for next year, where hopefully we can be one of the eight teams to qualify. I'm excited about Emma's future with the Eagles!"
Pohlmann, finished this season with a school-record 595.200 average in air rifle and a school-record 586.929 in smallbore for a record 1,182.214 aggregate average. She was named the SoCon Smallbore and Air Rifle Athlete of the Year and claimed both individual titles at the conference meet for the first time in the modern history of the SoCon (since 2017).
A sure-fire All-American when the teams are announced next week, Pohlmann became just the third Georgia Southern shooter in program history to earn a bid to the NCAA Championship, joining Rosemary Kramer and teammate Addy Burrow in the club.
