Get to know our ATs during Athletic Training Appreciation Month
STATESBORO - This month we are asking each member of our Georgia Southern athletic training staff to participate in a Q&A session as part of Athletic Trainer Appreciation Month. We will learn more about athletic training and more about the experiences of our athletic trainers and all the work they do for us behind the scenes!
The next trainer that we are highlighting is Nick Sparacio. Nick is the Associate Head Athletic Trainer working with football.
What is something about athletic training people often don't know?
"Athletic trainers are the only health profession to care for a patient every single day, often multiple times a day, from the time of injury to its resolution of their injury or illness."
What is your favorite part about being an athletic trainer?
"Helping people overcome adversity, pursue success, and achieve their goals. Particularly in the collegiate setting, experiencing young men and women mature throughout this time period and leaving a better person than when they came to school."
What is a treatment you like but don't get us as often/your favorite treatment?
"Dry needling has become one of my favorites over the past few years."
What is your favorite thing about working with your sport(s)?
"The controlled chaos of game day in football always keeps you on your toes. You get to see a vast array of injuries in football that you may not see in other sports. The team aspect of taking care of the team and how everybody works together each week to give the team the best chance to succeed."
Fun Fact:
"Athletic training has led me to four different countries with respective teams for competition: Mexico, Bahamas, Spain, and Costa Rica."
