MACON, Ga. - Six members of the Georgia Southern men's tennis squad made the trip up I-16 to take part in the Mercer Gridiron Classic on Friday through Sunday at the Stephens Tennis Center.

Competing in both singles and doubles over the weekend for the Eagles were four seniors - Alex Amacher, Pol del Castillo, Laurent Julia Calac and Alex Suk. Junior Matthew Mitchell and freshman Milan Ristov also competed as well.

Del Castillo highlighted the Eagles' action in singles, taking third place in the A1 Flight with three wins on the weekend. The duo of del Castillo and Calac also captured third place in the A Flight doubles bracket and had four wins overall on the weekend.

Georgia Southern will be next in action on October 10-15 at the ITA Southeast Regionals, hosted by UCF in Orlando.
