STATESBORO - This summer, GSEagles.com is getting to know each of the 10 members of the 2023-24 Georgia Southern men's gof team. Up next is fifth-year senior and transfer Reece Coleman, who is allergic to cats and is from South Africa. Let's get to know Reece.

Why did you choose Georgia Southern?
GS is a great school with an even better golf program. Coming to GS as a fifth year is a chance for me to test myself against the best players in the USA. Georgia Southern already has an unbelievably talented team and just being able to compete with these guys is an honor.

What is your goal for this summer?
My goal for this summer is to compete at the highest level.

Who are your three favorite professional (current or former) golfers and why?
Rory Mcilroy – his unbelievable character and professionalism; Louis Oosthuizen – local favorite in South Africa; and Scotty Scheffler – His Christian beliefs align with mine.

What's your favorite club in your bag?
Driver

How long have you been playing golf and how did you get into the game?
I've been playing since I was 5 years old, that's coming up on 18 years. I took a couple of years off somewhere in the middle of those 18 years. I only seriously started playing when I was 12 years old. My dad always enjoyed playing and slowly started getting me into it and it's never been the same since.

If you hadn't come to college to play golf, what sport would you have tried to play collegiately?
Cricket/Rugby

Yes, 1.

What course that you've played is your favorite course?
Quail Hallow

What course is your dream course to play?
Augusta National

What's your favorite of the four majors?
Masters

Do you have any pre-round rituals or superstitions?
Always go the range before putting green. Leave the range and head to the putting green at least 20 minutes before my tee time.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation

If you had to watch one movie on repeat, what would it be?
Step Brothers

How many states have you been to? Of those you haven't been to, which one do you want to visit the most?
11, Hawaii

If you could go back in time, what historical event would you want to see?
See how the Ancient Egyptians built the Pyramids.

What's something on your "bucket list"?
Play a round with Tiger Woods.

Are you more of a dog or cat person?
Dog for sure, I'm allergic to cats.

The 2023-24 Georgia Southern golf schedule will be announced later this summer. The Eagles return eight players from last year's squad and welcome two newcomers to the team.
