NORMAN, Okla. - Georgia Southern fifth-year senior Ben Carr has been named PING All-Region by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2023 and advance to the ballot for PING All-America plaudits. It's the second straight season Carr has earned the honor.

The Sun Belt Golfer of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection, Carr led the league in scoring average (69.97) and collected seven top-10 finishes, including four in the top-5 and a win in the Schenkel Invitational. He was named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week twice and the SwingU National Division I College Player of the Month in March. He scored par or better in 21 of 30 rounds this season and finished sixth at Sun Belt Championship.

Carr is scheduled to play in the U.S. Open June 15-18 at The Los Angeles Country Club. He earned an exemption into the tournament by finishing runner-up in the 2022 U.S. Am last August.
