STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern football squad held its second full team scrimmage of the spring Saturday morning at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
Dalen Cobb opened the scoring with a 35-yard touchdown pass from
Davis Brin and then
Anthony Queeley scored on a 7-yard run around the right side.
JC French connected with
Jaylon Barden for a 14-yard pass to the back corner of the end zone and
Terron Dixon III scored on a 9-yard run around the right side.
Brin and French combined to throw for 295 yards and two scores while
OJ Arnold (22 yard) and
Terrance Gibbs (21 yard) paced the rushing attack in limited work.
Khaleb Hood, Barden and Queeley combined for 134 yards receiving.
Britton Williams and
Michael Lantz both made 50-yard field goals and
Alex Smith had a 48-yard punt.
Andrew Douglas and
Tyrell Davis both had an interception with
Davon Gilmore,
Marc Stampley II,
MJ Stroud and
Davion Rhodes picking up sacks with
Seth Robertson and
Reid Dedman splitting a sack.
The team will hold its final two practices next week before having its annual Blue-White Spring Game, presented by Southern Exchange, Morris Bank and Savannah Airport, on Saturday, April 22 at noon.
