STATESBORO - Georgia Southern senior rifle student-athlete
Addy Burrow has once again been named the Southern Conference smallbore and air rifle athlete of the month for her performance, this time in January, as announced Friday by the conference. She earned both awards for her scores in October and November.
Burrow (Williamson, Ga.) had a strong January to keep her average at the top of the conference. She averaged 583.5 in four matches, two of the scores coming against some of the best competition in the NCAA. Her 586 at Wofford on Jan. 29 was the fourth-highest in program history and she has the nine-highest smallbore scores in school history and the top 11 aggregate scores in school history this season. She is averaging 585.182 in 11 dates this season.
She also had a strong January to keep her air rifle average at the top of the conference. She averaged 593.8 in four matches, two of the scores coming against some of the best competition in the NCAA. She has shot at least 590 in all 11 dates this year and she has the three of the top six air rifle scores in school history and the top 11 aggregate scores in school history this season. She is averaging 594.273 in 11 dates this season.
The Eagles, ranked 16th in the country, will be back in action on Saturday, hosting UAB at 8 a.m. in SoCon action.
