GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mason Williams shot a 66, and Wilson Andress fired a 69 to lead the Georgia Southern men's golf team into third place after the first round of the Vystar Credit Union Gators Invitational Saturday at Mark Bostick Golf Course.

Play was suspended due to inclement weather in the area in the evening, and the Eagles have about three holes left in the second round. 

Eighth-ranked Florida (-9) was tied with Liberty atop the leaderboard after one round of play. Georgia Southern (-3) was third, and Penn State (-2) was fourth. The field features three teams in the top-40, including the 25th-ranked Eagles.

Williams logged six birdies in the first round and played the back nine clean with three birdies for a 32 on the side. Andress birdied 16 and 17 to get under par for the round and ran off 13 straight pars to start the day. Carr played his final 12 holes 1-under with a birdie on 9, and Ingram shot 1-under on his final five holes.
