Eagles Continue Preparation on Day Three

MYRTLE BEACH – The Georgia Southern football team is just two days away from the Myrtle Beach Bowl, and the team continued its preparation for Saturday's game with practice and a trip to the lanes at the bowling alley on Thursday.
The team continued its morning routine with team and positional meetings before heading out to practice at Doug Shaw Stadium for its final full practice of the season. The specialists were swagged out in their gifted bucket hats and Bryan Ellis doesn't understand cold weather saying, "I don't understand it, what's the point of cold weather," during the frigid practice. While the team practiced it was Kids Day Out at Ripley's Aquarium.
After practice and a quick lunch, the team hit the bowling alley stirring up a little controversy inside the lanes. According to inside sources, Matt Daniel was crowned best bowler with a score of 168 narrowly beating Jjay Mcafee who missed one pin on his second throw in the 10th frame to win it; however, someone allegedly bowled a 199 but it can't be confirmed by any official judges. Eagle Nation may never know, but sources are working to get to the bottom of it. Also, $15 milkshakes were ordered and the players definitely got their money's worth.
During the evening, players were once again on their own with an earlier curfew as they inch closer to game day.
The ramp-up to the Myrtle Beach Bowl hits a fever pitch on Friday with a number of marquee events as Eagle Nation is expected to paint the town blue. One final game preparation will take place at Brooks Stadium before the team heads to Friday night's pep rally at The Hangout at Broadway at the Beach. Hail Southern Live! will take place following the pep rally at The Hangout.
The Myrtle Beach Bowl will take place on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. on ESPN. Tickets are still available through http://GSEagles.com/Bowl.
