Things to Know: Georgia State

For the most pertinent things ahead of Thursday's game

STATESBORO - The sights and sounds of game day in Statesboro are back as the Georgia Southern football team plays host to Georgia State in a key Sun Belt Conference matchup Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The atmosphere will be stellar, setting the stage for another memorable night under the lights in Allen E. Paulson Stadium.

Get ready for game day with things to know for the Eagles' clash with Georgia State

1. Buy Parking In Advance
• The donor lots around Paulson Stadium, which require permits, will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday (operating like a normal game day).

• The PAC RV lot area will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday (operating like a normal game day).

• CHANGE: The remainder of PAC Lot, as well as the RAC Lot and Lot 29 will open at 2 p.m.

• Paid game day parking lots are located at the RAC, PAC and Lot 29. If you have not already secured a parking pass, fans are encouraged to pre-purchase parking.

• Parking for Thursday's game can be purchased online HERE. Parking prices increase on game day. Free parking is still available in the Russell Union lot on campus.

• For a parking map, go to the Game Day Guide

2. Arrive Early and Charge Your Phone
• Be sure to download your mobile ticket to your wallet before you arrive at the stadium. This eliminates the variable of not having strong WiFi around the stadium and not being able to download it. Also, make sure your phone is charged before you leave your car. We are expecting a large crowd, so get to the stadium early to avoid the lines and see Freedom's Flight before the Eagles take the field.

3. Students: Show Up and Be Loud!
• Ask Erk said: "Our weekends begin on Thursday!" Students, we need YOU to fill up your side of Paulson and make it an intimidating atmosphere. Entry is free for current Georgia Southern students who have paid their athletic fee. Avoid the last-minute arrival crowd and get to your seat early during pre-game warmups to help set the tone for the night in the student section.

• As a reminder, there is a new way to access your Eagle ID so that you are able to scan into athletic events
  • Step 1: Open your Transact eAccount App on your phone
  • Step 2: Click the "More Information" tab under your Eagle ID
  • Step 3: Select "Show Barcode" to display
  • Step 4: Screenshot this barcode so you do not have issues connecting to the internet once you arrive at Paulson Stadium
  • Step 5: Scan your ticket and you're in!

4. Gates Open at 6 p.m.
For information on which gates are open for entry, go to page 2 of our Game Day Guide. A reminder: fans can use any non-student entrance gate for entry. If there's a line at one gate, you can proceed to one with a shorter line.

5. Waze
• Now on Waze, you can type in Allen E. Paulson and click on parking lots and see all the football game day lots around the stadium or you can just type in your lot like "Blue Lot" or "PAC RV Lot," and you'll see the lot name and - Allen E. Paulson next to it as well as the address under it.

• The app also has the Malecki Dr. road closure set to begin at 8 a.m. for each of game day this football season so fans will have accurate directions to their respective lot.

• As mentioned several times, plan to arrive early to avoid lines and heavier traffic.

6. Remember the New Traffic Flow
• With the completion of the Anthony P. Tippins Family Training Facility and parking lot upgrades come some important guidelines to follow as it relates to how fans enter and exit the donor parking lots at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Fans with a parking pass in the Blue, Gold, Peach, Green or Teal Lots must enter the lot from Lanier Drive. Fans with a Yellow or Pink Lots pass can only enter via Malecki Dr. from Akins Blvd. For a detailed map of the traffic flow for 2023, please see the Game Day Guide.

7. Clear Bag Policy
• Allen E. Paulson Stadium has a clear policy in place. Everyone can do their part to expedite entry by knowing what can and cannot be brought into the stadium.

8. Wear Blue
• With a national television audience tuning in, fans are asked to wear their best Georgia Southern blue shirt, sweatshirt or jacket as we look to paint Paulson in a sea of blue!

The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Tickets for the remaining games can be purchased at GSEagles.com/tickets.
