Eagles Remain Undefeated in Conference Play

Georgia Southern downs pair of The Citadel squads
NCAA SCORECARD
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern rifle squad took down The Citadel co-ed and The Citadel women in SoCon action Sunday at the Shooting Sports Education Center to move to 6-0 in conference play.
In smallbore, Addy Burrow led the way with a 582 to take the gold. Amy Visconti took silver with a 577 and Ashley Judson finished fourth with a 573. Lillian Herring shot a 566, followed by Bella Gamez and Anna Mayo both shooting 565s and Gabby Morrow posting a career-high 562.
In air rifle, the Eagles posted a 2,343. Burrow led the way with a 594 to place first. Judson shot a 588 to take second while while Visconti shot a 585 to place fourth. Mayo posted a 576, followed by Herring and Gamez (575) and Morrow (569).
The Eagles took the first three places in the combined, led by Burrow's shot a 1,176. Visconti was second with a 1,162 and Judson was third with a 1,161. Herring and Mayo (T-8th, 1,141) and Gamez (10th, 1,140) also placed in the top 10.

"In terms of score, this definitely was not our best showing. I think the team has made a lot of progress this year, but that progress has caused some of them to start setting expectations that aren't in line with how we want to perform. I am very happy with the way we're approaching matches; today was probably our best kneeling across the board and I look forward to carrying that into our next match."
