STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Director of Athletics
Jared Benko announced Thursday the addition of Chattanooga to the 2030 non-conference slate. The Eagles will host the Mocs on Aug. 31, 2030 at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
Georgia Southern and UTC have met 27 previous times in football, the last 21 as members of the Southern Conference. The Eagles lead the series 23-4 having won five of the previous six meetings. The series started in 1984 and the two teams played every year from 1993 to 2013 when the Eagles made the move to the FBS. The last meeting between the two came in 2013, a dramatic 23-21 win for the 15th-ranked Eagles at home as Younghoe Koo - now of the Atlanta Falcons - kicked a pair of fourth-quarter field goals to complete the comeback.
This contracted game is the third announced non-conference game for 2030, which now looks like this.
