All-Girl squad wins title, co-ed finishes third.
STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern cheer team won its eighth national championship at the National Cheerleaders Association National Championship Friday in Dayton Beach, Florida.
The all-girl squad took first in the IA Intermediate Division, and the co-ed team finished third. It was the seventh national championship for the all-girl team (the Eagles won the co-ed title in 2017).
"I am very proud of what these teams have accomplished," said head coach Barry Munkasy. "I had to step aside for the past two months and assistant coaches Stephanie del Forn and Massey Swanson led them to the national competition and these successes."
