Eagles are just two wake-ups away from a date with Buffalo
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – It was another cold day in Montgomery as temperatures barely broke the freezing mark, but the Eagles pressed on with preparations for Tuesday's Camellia Bowl that is just two days away.
With it being Christmas, everyone was given the chance to sleep in, although those with young kids might not have had that luxury. Despite the change of address, it is confirmed that Santa Claus was able to find all the good kids in Montgomery to deliver presents! The players were treated to a special delivery from Santa Helton, who made sure everyone was in the holiday mood. Quarterback Kyle Vantrease, who quarterbacked Buffalo to a win in this same bowl game two years ago on Dec. 25 joked earlier this week he is probably the only non-Montgomery resident who has spent two of the past three Christmases in Montgomery.
After brunch, a Christmas service and a few morning meetings, the team went back to Cramton Bowl for its Thursday practice. It was a light and quick affair as all the preparation is about done.
The evening event was a great time as the entire party ventured to Dreamland BBQ for a taste of the local flavor.
The ramp-up to the Camellia Bowl hits a fever pitch on Monday with a number of marquee events as Eagle Nation is expected to flood into town. The Alabama Legend's Luncheon brings both teams together for a formal luncheon, a formal press conference will be held, the team picture will be snapped at the Cramton Bowl as the Eagles get their put in their final preparations, Hail Southern Live! will originate from the Embassy Suites lobby and the entire team will head to Monday night's pep rally at the Union Station Train Shed where the GS band and cheerleaders will lead the way.
The Camellia Bowl will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. (CT)/noon (ET) on ESPN. Tickets are still available through http://GSEagles.com/Bowl.
