NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference has announced the bracket for the 2022 Volleyball Tournament, and Georgia Southern will take on Southern Miss Thursday at 3:30 p.m. ET in the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Alabama.

The Eagles are the fifth seed in the East, and Southern Miss is the fourth seed in the West. This will be the first meeting between the teams this season and first since 2019, when Georgia Southern won 3-0 in Hanner Fieldhouse in the GS Invitational. The winner plays the East's first seed and Sun Belt regular-season champion, James Madison, Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

This will mark the third consecutive year that the Sun Belt Tournament will take place in Foley, and each of the tournament's 11 matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.

James Madison claimed its first-ever Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship, finishing league play with a 15-1 mark and boasting a 21-4 record overall. The Dukes were a perfect 12-0 against divisional opponents and earn the top spot in the Sun Belt East. Texas State secured the West Division's top seed by posting a 14-2 record against Sun Belt opposition and an 11-1 tally against divisional foes. The Bobcats are 22-6 overall and have posted three wins this season against Autonomy 5 opponents.
