Eagles, Owls to meet in Boca Raton
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern football team will take its first road trip of the season when travels to Boca Raton to take on Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and will be broadcast by Stadium. The game will also be available via radio on the Georgia Southern Sports Network. - This will be the second meeting between Georgia Southern and FAU. Last season, the two teams were scheduled to play on Sept. 19, but the game was pushed back to Dec. 12 due to COVID issues within the Owls' program. Khaleb Hood's 49-yard punt return for a score and Alex Raynor's two field goals sparked a 20-3 win for Georgia Southern at Paulson Stadium.
- Georgia Southern is 17-9 all-time against current teams from Conference USA after beating FAU and Louisiana Tech (New Orleans Bowl) last season. The last time Georgia Southern played at a current C-USA stadium was in 2012 at Old Dominion, a 49-35 win in the FCS Quarterfinals.
- The last road game for the Eagles at a Florida school was against the University of Florida in 2013, a 26-20 victory for the Eagles in The Swamp.
