Georgia Southern travels to Texas State for Sun Belt Play
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern football team heads west this weekend to take on Texas State at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas. Kickoff is set for Saturday at 3:05 p.m. Eastern/2:05 p.m. local and will be streamed online through ESPN+. The game will also be available via radio on the Georgia Southern Sports Network. - Georgia Southern leads the series with Texas State 4-1 after holding on to down the Bobcats 40-38 last season in Statesboro. The Bobcasts scored with 2:50 left to cut the lead to two, but the Eagles picked up two first downs to run out the clock.
- In its last trip to San Marcos, Georgia Southern left with a hard-fought 15-13 win in 2018 in San Marcos on a failed late two-point conversion by the Bobcats late.
- Texas State won the first game in the series, a 50-35 victory in 2005 in the NCAA FCS Round of 16 at Texas State, but the Eagles have won the past four games (28-25 in 2014 in San Marcos, 37-13 in 2015 in Statesboro, 15-13 in 2018 in San Marcos and 40-38 in 2020 in Statesboro).
