The Eagles earn their second victory of the season.
STATESBORO – Katie Ranck, Isabel Ptacek and Reese Connelly finished in the top-6 to lead the Georgia Southern cross country team to a one-point win over Jacksonville in the GATA XC Classic, the Eagles' home meet, Friday evening.
On a warm, humid evening, Isabel Clayton ran a personal best, and Ptacek ran the second-fastest time of her career. Ranck, Connelly and Ansley Fullen, all freshmen, ran their fastest times of the season.
The Eagles scored 34 points, besting second-place Jacksonville, which had the top two finishers, by a point. Ranck finished third, Ptacek placed fifth, Connelly was sixth, Clayton was ninth and Fullen took 12th. Melanie Tribick finished 15th.
