Eagles ready to impress scouts
STATESBORO - Over a dozen former Georgia Southern football players, along with another six from Savannah State, are expected to participate in Pro Day on Friday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium in hopes of impressing what is anticipated to be a large crowd of NFL and other professional scouts.
While the event is open to the public, the coaching staff has certain restrictions in place for those attending.
1) Only the on-field portion is open to the public;
2) Fans must sit in the stands on the visiting side
3) Field access is only permitted for athletes, scouts, media and credentialed personnel
The day will begin at 8 a.m. in the weight room, where measurements will be taken, followed by the bench press and vertical leap. This session is not open to the public.
The athletes will then move outside for several tests, including the 40-yard dash, pro agility, 60-yard shuttle and three-cone drill. This session is expected to begin at 9 a.m. and is open to the public.
Following the drills, athletes will go through skill/position drills with the different skills and teams may request certain players to work out for them. Additionally, kicker Tyler Bass will work out on the field before the 9 a.m. field testing for the other athletes for those who want to watch his workout.
This event is not an open tryout.
