Eagles return to the practice fields after day off
STATESBORO – It was back to the grind on Monday as the Georgia Southern football team returned to the banks of Beautiful Eagle Creek for another practice. The temperatures were high, but the humidity was higher as the Eagles went through a two-hour session to try and shake the rust off from a day off.
With camp now 11 days old, the players are getting into the routine of practices and meetings, but the day after an off day is always tough.
Some of the other students are starting to arrive and Rush Week is in full effect moving the 20:1 ratio Erk so famously said to more like 40:1. The team will help with Operation Move-In and take part in the Eagle Creek Baptism on Friday, which should break up the repetitiveness of camp and classes start a week from today.
In today's coaching interview, GSEagles.com caught up with new cornerbacks coach Kevin Whitley to get his thoughts on his group early in camp.
Practice will continue on Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. practice at Beautiful Eagle Creek.
