FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Steven Fisk shot a 66 to lead the Georgia Southern men's golf team in the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship Friday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course.
Fisk is tied for fourth with Austin Kendziorski of Marquette at 5-under-par, two shots away from the leaders. The field features five teams in the top-45, including fourth-ranked Vanderbilt, which is hosting the tournament, and 12 individuals in the top-100.
Fisk made five birdies on the day and shot 3-under on the back with an eagle at the 517-yard, par-5 14th and birdies at 11 and 18.
Brett Barron made birdies at 16 and 17 to post a 35 on the back, and
Mason Williams, who was sparked by an eagle on 14, was also 1-under on the back.
Georgia Southern is tied for 13th with Ball State, eight strokes out of the top-10. No. 25 Tennessee is first, and Memphis is second. Coastal Carolina is third, followed by No. 45 Northwestern at fourth, and Western Kentucky and Kentucky are tied for fifth.
