STATESBORO, Ga - Men's Tennis went 1-1 in a pair of matches on their weekend trip to Tennessee. The Eagles went up against Belmont in a heated battle today in Nashville after a 5-2 win over Lipscomb yesterday. The Bruins ultimately defeated the Eagles, 3-4. 

The Eagles gave up the doubles points to the Bruins early, sending them into singles ahead. The Blue and White tried to make a comeback but were unable to match the Bruins momentum. Stefano Di Aloy defeated Marko Ilic, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Pascal Wagemaker took down Vincent Sterkens at No. 5, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Santiago Suarez was able to top Jake Briggs, 6-4, 6-1, 7-6 (7-2). The two battled it out until the last second when Suarez took the match but it wasn't enough for an Eagle victory. The Eagles are back in action next week against Lamar in Texas.  

WHAT HEAD COACH SANDER KONING SAID
It was a tight match. Belmont came out very energetic and we had a tough time matching them. As soon as we did we were in the match, but one bad game made the difference. We will need to look for a way to start quicker the next match.
