Winning streak continues for Eagles in Nashville after taking down Lipscomb
STATESBORO, Ga. - The Men's Tennis team traveled to Nashville, Tennessee this weekend for a pair of matches. The Eagles won their fifth consecutive match today when they took down Lipscomb University today, 5-2. The Blue and White improved to 11-4 on the 2019 season with two more matches before conference play opens up.
The Bison were no match for the Eagles today in Nashville as they fell 5-2. The Eagles came in strong and took the doubles point early, taking the lead over Lipscomb. Murphy McCullough and Antonio Muniz took down Jorge Ortegon and Pedro Uribe, 6-3. Diego Finkelstein and Santiago Suarez took their match over Jake Penny and Michael Tougher, 6-4.
The Eagles went into singles ahead of the Bison, 1-0. The Blue and White were able to take the match over Lipscomb by Antonio Muniz, Murphy McCullough, JC Alcala, and Pascal Wagemaker all pulling through for the Eagles and winning their matches. Head Coach Sander Koning said the guys had "good effort all around and a good start of our spring break trip". Men's Tennis is back in action tomorrow in Nashville to take on Belmont at 11 AM.
