STATESBORO, Ga. - The University of North Carolina Wilmington took down the Georgia Southern Men's Tennis team today in Wilmington. The loss today against the Seahawks ended a five game winning streak for the Blue and White. After a rain delay at the UNCW Tennis Courts, the Eagles lost the match, 1-6.

The Men's Tennis team started out strong in doubles but were unable to take the point home for the team. Antonio Muniz and JC Alcala put up a hard fight for the Eagles but it wasn't enough for the win. Muniz and Alcala lost the doubles set to Michael Morphy and Austin Hussey, 7-6 (7-4). The Eagles came to win today in Wilmington but were outfought by the Seahawks.
WHAT HEAD COACH SANDER KONING SAID
"Today the credit goes to UNCW. They out battled us on many of the courts. They always show up and compete and today wasn't any different. We competed hard in doubles, but missed on key moments and it cost us the doubles point. In singles, Antonio and Stefano played really well today and competed hard. On some of the other courts we couldn't dig in enough and gave UNCW too many free points. It will be something we need to improve this season."
