Senior safety accepts invitation from prestigious event
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern senior safety Donald Rutledge Jr. has accepted an invitation to play in the 2020 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
The Sumter, South Carolina, native has started the past five games for the Eagles at strong safety. For the season, he has tallied 30 tackles, including 10 tackles at Minnesota. He also has five pass breakups.
Rutledge Jr. is a graduate transfer who came over from Savannah State, where he played three seasons.
Rutledge Jr. and his Georgia Southern teammates will take on Troy at Veterans Memorial Stadium Saturday . Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET).
